Dr. Oz: Boost Your Energy in 7 Days !

Step 1: Eat Alkaline Foods to Boost Your Energy Through Your Kidneys
Alkaline foods, such as fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and grains flow through your system more quickly and easily than nonalkaline foods, which include processed foods, meat and dairy. The nonalkaline foods you eat promote acid in your body that the kidneys have to work hard to get rid of.
Step 2: Use Sprouts to Boost Vitamins and Minerals in Your Body
Step 3: Load Up on Energy Fats to Boost Brain Power
Fats make up the majority of our cell membranes–including our brain. You need to feed the brain cells the right fats to help keep you sharp and mentally energized, and to protect the brain from toxins.
Step 4: Eat at Least Half Your Plate Raw to Energize the Gut
This doesn’t mean you should eat raw meat, but vegetables, fruits and seeds are best eaten raw, because when cooked, they lose a lot of their enzymes that we need for healthy digestion, a process that uses a lot of energy.
Step 5: Drink Lukewarm Lemon Water at Every Meal to Wake Up Your Organs
Drink a glass of lukewarm water with lemon first thing in the morning and then again at every meal. This combination wakes up your liver and gallbladder to flush toxins out of them, and gets your whole intestinal track moving.
Step 6: Do an Energy Move to Boost Circulation
Try Elkaim's favorite move, the jump and pump to increase blood flow and circulation by pumping energy through your body. To do this move, start in a sitting position, then jump and throw your fist in the air.

What's a Raw Vegan Diet ?

A raw foods diet consists of unprocessed raw vegan foods that have not been heated above 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46 degrees Celsius). "Raw foodists" believe that foods cooked above this temperature have lost their enzymes and thus a significant amount of their nutritional value and are harmful to the body, whereas uncooked foods provide living enzymes and proper nutrition. Proponents of a raw food diet claim that there are many benefits to eating raw foods, including weight loss, more energy, clear skin, improved digestion and improved overall health. Many people clarify that they eat a "high raw" or a certain percentage of raw foods in their diet, such as "75% raw diet" or a "90% raw diet".

DANGERS OF DEHYDRATION.

Hi- drate ! It’s important. Usually, your body balances the amount of water you consume with the amount of water eliminated.
Certain circumstances such as prolonged physical activity, high air temperatures, high fever, diarrhea, trauma and burns increase the amount of water lost. If you don’t replace that water, you become dehydrated.
You can become dehydrated by not consuming enough fluid from foods and beverages. These are conditions that also can make dehydration more likely:
  • Sweating during exercise that is not compensated by drinking extra fluids; exercise even in cold weather can cause sweating
  • Hot, humid weather
  • High altitude, which causes rapid breathing and increased urine output
  • Illnesses such as poorly controlled diabetes, and illnesses that cause vomiting, diarrhea, or fever
  • Pregnancy
  • Certain medications

Alcoholic drinks also can make you urinate more frequently, but, like caffeine, this increase is short-term and usually does not cause dehydration if you drink in moderation.

Symptoms of dehydration

  • A dry or sticky mouth, caused by too little saliva
  • Less urine than normal, or no urine for eight hours. Urine that is darker than usual may indicate dehydration; diet, medications, and vitamin supplements can also affect urine color.
  • Few or no tears
  • Sunken eyes
  • Dry, cool skin
  • Fast heart rate
  • In infants, a sunken fontanel, the soft spot on the top of the head, may mean dehydration.
  • Lethargy, irritability or fatigue
  • Listlessness or coma; this is a sign of severe dehydration.

Things That Can Wake You Up Better Than Coffee

The apple offers major benefits to the human body, but fruits in general are big, too. So, why apples you may ask? The benefits of an apple are amazing, since it contains fructose which is a natural sugar that can wake you up naturally and help keep you going. It also moves slowly through the body, reaching areas where you may not wake up immediately, but once an apple in your system it'll wake you up and keep you awake.

Coming from the cocoa bean, chocolate at least starts as something all natural. It's a fatty food, so it's not something you want to indulge in frequently. But if no coffee is present, a simple chocolate bar does have enough within to make you wake up. The moment you put chocolate in your body, it can give close to immediate comfort, but also drive up energy. It won't last for a very long time, but if you get moving once you eat or drink something with chocolate involved, chances are you're waking up pretty well.

Seems a bit obvious, I know. But, light has a way of, shall we say, annoying people in the morning. Whether you wake up to the bright sun or the light being cut on in your room, it may be a torturous way to get up, but it's guaranteed to get you up and keep you up.

Another one that may seem obvious, but is not used as often with Americans, is exercise. It's not as if you have to do a lot, but things like running in the morning, even if it's just around the block, not only can keep you healthy and fit, but it will wake your body up very well. Stretching can be a big help, or if you're feeling foggy, heading to the gym can get you going. But most of the time, you can get going right at home with no need for a gym membership. Really, it's all about the blood. When you get up and going you start to get the blood flowing throughout the entire body.

Some of you may be asking, "How can water wake me up?" Well, drinking one glass of water before bedtime will make you have to, well, get up to use the restroom. So, that's one way of course. But there are several other ways. The shower includes water, unless you live with Willy Wonka and have the best chocolate shower ever! However, what's most effective is being awakened by cold water being thrown on you by someone. That is a guarantee that you'll wake up. If we want to make it scientific, water has a lot of health benefits, too. Think about it, your body is made up mostly of water. You can last 3 weeks without any food but only 3 days without water, meaning it is important to the body daily. So, starting the day with a tall glass of water or bottle of water can really help the body.

Amazing Uses for Lemons:

Produce Preserver

Make your fruit and vegetable slices last longer by coating them with lemon juice. The citric acid will help keep them from browning. Give it a try today by coating some apples slices or spritzing it on a batch of guacamole.

All-Purpose Cleaner
Replace harsh, chemical-filled cleaners with a natural, lemon-based one. For mirrors, windows, and countertops, mix lemon juice and water in a spray bottle. Brighten your whites without bleach by adding a cup of lemon juice to your laundry. Rub a lemon directly on grimy faucets and shower handles to remove soap scum while polishing chromes and other metals. You can even remove carpet stains with a lemon juice and salt scrub!

Teeth Whitening Treatment

Get sparkling white teeth with a simple combination of lemon juice and baking soda. In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice and baking soda until it bubbles. Using a cotton swab, apply the mixture to your teeth and let sit for a minute before brushing off gently. This is a cost-effective way to get the smile you want without paying for expensive whitening treatments. However, it’s important to follow the instructions exactly because citric acid can erode tooth enamel if it’s left on your teeth for more than a minute.

8 Reasons Why You Should Drink Cucumber Water

1. It’s good for your muscles: Cucumbers contain silica, a trace mineral necessary to keep connective tissue healthy. Add a few slices to your infuser water bottle.
2. It’s good for your skin: The silica and antioxidants help your skin stay clear and supple. I read that you can remove the soaked cucumbers from cold cucumber water and use them to reduce acne redness.
3. It’s low calorie: An entire cucumber averages about 45 calories so a few slices in your water is not adding very many additional calories
4. You may drink more water: We like things that taste good. Better tasting water just may prompt you to drink more of it. Cucumber water worked for me.
5. It’s detoxifying: Use it as an integral part of your juice cleanse.
6. It’s inexpensive: Cucumbers are the 4th most widely cultivated vegetable in the world. Organics cost a bit more, however, relative to other organic fruits and vegetables, they are less expensive.
7. Guests love it: Add some extra wow to your table by adding a pitcher of cucumber water. Most people don’t take the trouble to make it at home, so they appreciate it so much more when served fancy water elsewhere.
8. Making it is easy: It takes just a few minutes to fill a pitcher (or glass) of water and slice a few cucumbers into it.

At-Home Cellulite Solutions

Seaweed Treatments

Homemade seaweed masks and scrubs are an effective, inexpensive way to treat cellulite. A natural exfoliant, seaweed can help stimulate circulation and flush toxins, which helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Powdered seaweed is the perfect base for an at-home body scrub and can be mixed with clay, lime juice and honey to create a moisturizing spa-grade treatment.

Cook with Tomato Paste

Tomato paste contains high doses of lycopene, more than what you would get by eating a fresh tomato. Studies have shown that this antioxidant may help reduce UV-induced sun damage, as well as help prevent collagen breakdown. By preserving collagen in your skin, you are keeping a healthy thick top layer of skin overlying your fat layer, which reduces the out-pouching of underlying fat cells, making cellulite less visible.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water every day will help you stay hydrated and help plump the skin, making it look less dimpled. Foods with higher water content can also improve skin hydration. Fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly melons, cucumbers and leafy greens, are high in water content and low in calories which will aid in weigh control and, thus, fat stores. Try getting an Infuser Water Bottle, so you don't get bored of plain water, add fruits and stay Hydrated.

Relax with a Cup of Tea

Studies suggest that certain hormones, particularly insulin and cortisol (which rises with stress), change the way that fat cells function. Interestingly, a family of molecules called catechins, found in green and white teas, decrease fat cell insulin resistance. So when you are on edge, take five minutes to sit quietly and have a cup of tea.
