Garcinia Cambogia, does it work ?

Garcinia Cambogia is the latest weight loss fad. This so called Superfood that you take as a supplement to lose weight have been getting a lot of international attention.

What Is Garcina Cambogia Extract?
Garcinia cambogia is a small, pumpkin-shaped fruit, sometimes called tamarind. Though native to Indonesia, it is also grown in India, Southeast Asia, and West and Central Africa. It has long been used in traditional South Asian dishes, including curries and chutneys. Many also use the fruit for curing fish and preservation.
Adding this ingredient to meals is considered to be effective in making meals more “filling.” In some villages in Malaysia, garcinia is used to make a soup that is eaten before meals for weight loss because of garcinia’s appetite-blocking abilities.

This plant offers one of the least expensive herbal supplements on the market. The ingredient from the rind of the fruit could hasten your weight-loss efforts. The natural extract is called hydroxycitric acid (HCA), and researchers claim that HCA can double or triple one’s weight loss.

How Does Garcina Cambogia Work?
The HCA extract from garcinia cambogia supplement aids in weight loss by doing two things: It helps to block fat, and it suppresses your appetite.

HCA blocks fat by inhibiting a key enzyme that your body needs to make fat from carbohydrates: Citrate lyase. Usually carbohydrates or sugars that are not used immediately or stored in other forms are converted into fats. When HCA inhibits citrate lyase, the fat-making process is halted and the production of LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides decrease.
HCA also suppresses appetite by increasing serotonin levels. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter in your brain that makes you feel good. It’s a target of many antidepressant medications. Having low levels of serotonin may make you feel depressed or anxious; it drives many people into emotional or reactive eating. By increasing serotonin levels, HCA improves mood and suppresses the drive to react to stressful situations with food. As you eat less, your body senses this and it releases stored fat in your fat cells.

Do you know about Liquid Diet?

This kind of diet should be a short-term thing (a few days to a week at the very most) because it is difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs from fluids.

Liquid diets can be used for weight loss, they are very easy to follow, as long as you have the willpower to avoid solid food. There are two basic types of liquid diets, the clear liquid diet and the full liquid diet.

The difference is that on full liquid diet, there is a bit more leeway with slightly more substantial liquids like oatmeal and pureed foods. A modified liquid diet, in which followers use premade diet shakes as one or two of their daily meals and supplement with solid snacks and a third solid meal, can be used for a longer term because the body receives additional nutrients from the variety of solid foods.

Liquid Diet Plan
It consists almost entirely of fluids. It is not meant to be a "lifestyle change," or something you take up for the rest of your life, like healthful eating habits. Rather, it should only be done for a few days at a time as your body cannot sustain itself over the long term on a few different liquids alone.

Obese people undergoing bariatric surgery may be put on the liquid diet for a long time periods in order to help their gastrointestinal tract adjust to the surgery, in medical purposes.

Liquid Diet Drinks
Depending on the type of liquid diet you follow, you are typically allowed different drinks. If your doctor puts you on a liquid diet, however, drink only what he or she recommends.

Generally, on a clear liquid diet, you need to stick to transparent fluids. Sample foods include:

  • Clear soup broths
  • Clear fruit juices
  • Clear carbonated beverages
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Popsicles
  • Gelatin

On the full liquid diet, you can have thicker foods with a bit more substance, such as:

  • Milk
  • Ice cream
  • Pudding
  • Cream soups
  • Oatmeal
  • Cream of wheat
  • Honey
  • Pureed vegetables

Many people also follow a modified liquid diet in which they use meal-replacement shakes or protein powders for one to two meals per day and consume one regular solid-food meal. This can help stimulate weight loss by consuming fewer calories while allowing the third solid meal to replenish nutrients that are often lacking from diet drinks.
And, if you're planning to start a liquid diet on your own, it's a good idea to discuss it with your doctor first so that he or she can be notify you of any potential health risks.

Ways To Stop Overeating

1
Steer clear of fad diets that promise rapid weight loss in a short period of time. In general, losing weight too quickly is not safe. Although it is possible to lose up to 10 pounds per week for the first two weeks of dieting, this is usually a result of water loss and not a true indication of weight loss. The recommended amount of weight to safely lose is 1 to 2 pounds per week.

2
Refrain from participating in diets that require you to banish foods completely from your diet (such as Atkins or the Cookie Diet), or severely restrict the amount of calories that you can consume in a day.

Refrain from emotional eating. If you find that you are eating food when you are depressed, lonely, angry or after a hard day at work, you are eating for the wrong reasons.

Eat only when you are hungry. If you are eating out of habit and not because of hunger, you are feeding your habits rather than feeding your body what it needs.

Stop eating when you feel full. Most people just instinctively eat what is in front of them, regardless of whether or not they are still hungry.
